No new comic!? No new comic. 🙁
Unfortunately, the moving process, some personal matters and social obligations have left me pretty much zero time to get anything adequately done this week, so instead, here’s a quick look at my new studio space – where I’m right now back to work on new updates. (Bonus points for anyone who can pinpoint all the nerdy decorations/toys/etc scattered about?)
I know the update schedule’s been pretty sparse lately, and I am sorry for that. I’ve been spread pretty thin, but things are calming back down and I’m confident I can get back to the regular schedule very soon. Thanks again for the patience. The next new comic will be up a week from today, on March 25th. I’ll try to post something else on Thursday as well, if time permits.
SONIC SCREWDRIVER. TARDIS. DALEK. Sir, my respect for you has increased tenfold. 😀 Those blurry little figures in front of the TARDIS seem awfully familiar as well, but it might just be my imagination. Same with some book(s) which appear(s) to have “Pokémon” (in the trademark font) on the spine. Oh, and there also seems to be a Poké Ball shaped and colored object in the organizer in the left photo. Pretty cool room regardless of whether my guesses are correct, though!
Good eye! Especially on the little Dalek. The little ones in front of the TARDIS are some DW minifigures (11th Doctor, Amy Pond, Silurian and Smiler).
No Pokémon stuff, however! I think the books you’re referring to are actually the first four Dragon Ball volumes, and believe it or not, the Pokeball-looking thing (and I totally see it too!) is just a red tealight candle that caught the light in a weird way.
I prefer to keep my screwdriver in my purse, personally. Much more convenient, though I guess you may not have that option.
Dude, I think it would be harder to find the things that are not nerdy.
Since I’m viewing this on my phone I’m not even going to try them all. However, I totally want the Kaneda w/bike figure, are those the Akira comics on the bottom shelf?
Haha, that’s a pretty fair assessment. I keep the full-force geekery around me where I need it the most! Keeps me feeling happy and inspired when I’m working.
Good eye on those! Yep, they’re the Dark Horse (and later Kodansha) US releases. Missing volume 6 for the time being, but that’ll be rectified soon enough. Kaneda and the bike I’ve had for a long time now – it’s the McFarlane version from 10+ years back – but it’s just way too cool to keep boxed up. (And that whole corner is almost an Akira shrine at this point.)
Just noticed that the TMNT all have the original red head bands vs the 4 different colors as in the cartoon.
They’re from NECA, and they’re the best. They even made awesome black and white variants!
Man, they are great. I wish I had those ones too, but I could never justify it. And now it’s toooo laaaate.
(Unless it isn’t, I guess? I haven’t really looked into it.)
DC and Marvel superheroes, Dr. Who, Futurama, Akira, Final Fantasy, Mega Man, BTVS and TMNT action figures…wowsers, that’s eclectic and awesome
Framed DC artwork gives you my utmost respect, especially the Impulse stuff. This is so worth the wait for new comics 😀
Well, I don’t know if I’d go that far, but I hoped some folks might find it interesting/cool in the meantime. 😉
Impulse has been my favourite DC character for a long time now. If I ever get a sketch/commission from a favourite artist, he’s usually the character I pick. The ones on the wall are sketches by Priscilla Tramontano, Jason Ho, and the bigger one was by Dean Trippe (and he posted a colour version here).
I see Shaun from Shaun of the dead :S

That looks … .suspiciously clean …. you cleaned it just for that picture, didn’t you ? 😀
Well, it was pretty recently set up. Hasn’t had much of a chance to get messy yet. 😉
