I’ve gotten some requests to introduce figures from Inca mythology next. Here’s our first one. And he’s the mayor!

Do you browse Wikipedia or do you have handy mythological guidebooks on hand for reference?
A bit of both! I’ve got some mythology books, yeah, and I have a certain amount of knowledge already (though I am far from any kind of expert, I freely admit). But I also do quite a bit of Internet research – a bit of Wiki, but I use godchecker.com quite a bit, too.
Of course, the comic being what it is, I feel free to take some liberties. 😉
I also use Encyclopædia Mythica at pantheon.org and the excellent White Wolf ‘Scion’ game compilations for easy access to realistic gods. Lots of good mythology resources are available at the touch of a search engine! Nice seeing what Tlaloc/Chac has been doing with himself. ‘Mayor Kon’ indeed… Just make the rain something that’s only inimical to dæmons and bring it on – then cut it back to minimal mist before the city cloaca overflows!
