In Living Colour
No actual comic today, but instead something I’ve wanted to do for a while – a rough mock-up of how several characters/panels would appear if WTH were in colour.
The colouring job is admittedly rough – like, Fill Tool rough – but I think this gives a decent idea of how most of the characters have appeared in my head since I introduced them. (I wanted to include Aphrodite and Buddha as well, but I didn’t feel I had any panels that represented them well enough yet.)
The comic will remain black and white for the forseeable future. I’d like to make that jump eventually, but I’d need more available time, as well as a lot of practice, before I feel it’d be worth doing.
So, what do you think? Do you prefer black and white or colour?
Other Things:
I’ve signed up with Tumblr, where I’ll be linking all further comic updates as well. Just another way to follow/share the comic if you’re interested!
You may notice some little buttons at the bottom left of the page (under the tags). I’ve signed up with a few comic listing sites, so if you have a minute, please give me a quick vote/rating. Thanks! 😀
Looks cool, but just to nit-pick: Don’t you think Jezus’ tan would look better on Athena and vice versa ?
Jesus had a hard working young life before he went to live with his father so he worked up a natural permatan on him.
And if you tint Athena more you would also have to tint her two half brothers as well.
everyone there looks like i imagined them except i imagined lucifer’s hair dark red for some reason. and thor’s hair more… blonde.
Well, the hair colours aren’t “final” necessarily – I may try something different in the future just to see how they’d look.
all standalone pic is harmonic (all clothes and hair with the backgrounds), but imagine bronze haired Thor in Hermes’s room – with the lavender walls.
that pic would be intense :))))))
Maybe I’ll try a colour swap later if I have time.
Thanks! 😀
Great job on the coloring. I would swap Thor’s and Lucifer’s hair colors, Thor being scandanavian it would be natural to have him as blonde and really…if anyone is gonna be a red head it’s the guy whose whole being is red with rage.
Saraswati really needs a lighter shade. The black could be used for giving her hair some definition but as a block color it doesn’t quite look right on her…
Thanks a lot! The colouring is admittedly rough, and not necessarily “final” – I wasn’t super happy with Saraswati’s hair, but didn’t have time to change it. It needs some kind of highlighting or shine, definitely.
For Thor, I went with the descriptions of him having red hair and a beard, though mainly because I thought he’d look more interesting that way.
For Lucifer, I hadn’t settled on a hair colour until pretty recently. He was actually almost a redhead, but I got a comment some time ago saying he looked like James Marsters (Spike on “Buffy”), so my mind just kind of ran with that, I guess. 😉
Wow. Fantastic Job Bry!
I really like Athenas hair! That colour is awesome.
